The RECON 8 is Wet Sounds’ most accessible marine coaxial speaker — designed from the ground up to deliver genuine high-performance sound without requiring a dedicated amplifier. If you’re looking to upgrade your in-boat audio on a budget, or simply want a capable speaker that works straight off your head unit, the RECON 8 is the answer.

Built around a powerful 8″ mid driver with a full rubber Santopreneâ„¢ spider and surround suspension system, the RECON 8 uses a lightweight Nylasâ„¢ nylon and fiberglass frame for a strong yet efficient build that handles the marine environment without the weight penalty of heavier speaker designs. The injection-moulded composite cone delivers clean, detailed mid-range output, while the 1″ aluminum dome tweeter extends high-frequency response across the full range from 45Hz to 20kHz. At 89dB sensitivity and 70W RMS power handling, the RECON 8 is specifically optimised to perform well even with the modest output of a quality head unit — no amplifier required.

Like all Wet Sounds speakers in the RECON Series, the RECON 8 includes RGB backlighting, allowing you to add accent lighting in any colour using a Wet Sounds RGB Controller (sold separately). Sold in pairs. Backed by Wet Sounds’ 2-year warranty.
